There is a real sense of the different layers added in to this music video which is conventional of music video. This incorporated through the different scenes such as the school scene and the scenes that build upon the artist himself. The theme of romance is clear through out through the cut aways to the two shots of the artist and the girl- it is clear that they share some sort of relationship. The prop of roses and flowers add to this romantic feel as you associate roses with love and passion but also anger and evil which perhaps connotes the unfaithful acts that takes place in this video.

In this music video there is a clear theme of darkness which i denote through the repetitive use of low key lighting and dark filters produced through editing. This represented the rock genre of this song as rock brings connotations to black colours which is also clear through the dark coloured costume.
The setting and location used creates a gothic feeling which connotes the rock genre which tends to be associated with danger and living life on the edge.
